Patrick F. Estill is an attorney based in Lexington, Kentucky. His practice focuses on construction and business matters, including a wide range of construction and commercial transactions. In construction matters, Patrick advises on drafting and negotiating contracts and other project-related documents for owners, contractors, and consultants in commercial and industrial projects. He routinely counsels clients on risk-allocation in projects and disputes when they arise. Patrick also has significant experience with procurement matters, including under Kentucky’s public-private partnership laws.
In addition to his construction practice, Patrick brings extensive experience in litigation, commercial, and appellate matters. He draws on his multidisciplinary background to serve clients effectively and efficiently, using insights from disputes to craft stronger contracts and help clients guard against risk. Patrick values learning how each client’s business operates so he can provide advice that aligns with and advances their goals.

Patrick lives in downtown Lexington with his wife, kids, and dogs. He enjoys traveling, cooking, music, basketball and soccer, and spending time with his family.

- Represents owners, contractors, and consultants in commercial and industrial construction transactions
- Routinely advises on project delivery, risk allocation, and other issues in construction and development projects in addition to project disputes
- Advises on procurement, including under Kentucky’s public-private partnership (P3) laws
- Advises on other project-related contracts and documents, such as consulting and program manager agreements, independent contractor agreements, subcontracts and purchase orders, maintenance agreements, project financing, and others
- Represented owner in connection with EPC contract to construct first-of-its-kind commercial plastics recycling facility, in addition to representation on various specialty supplier and other transactions
- Represented contractor in connection with EPC contract to deliver high-tech greenhouse project
- Drafted and negotiated agreements for multiple hospitality and food/beverage projects, including major hotel renovations, new hotel construction, and Kentucky bourbon facilities
- Drafted and negotiated EPC agreement for owner of first-of-its kind recycling pilot plant
- Drafted and negotiated agreements for multiple commercial assisted living facilities
